Love in the viking age

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with us!

Valentine’s Day at The Viking Museum

On February the 14th, we open the museum and offer an exclusive guided tour – “Dating during the Viking Age”

About the shieldmaiden Brynhilde’s unwillingness to get married, the journey that gave name o the word ”bröllop” (wedding),  how Sigrid Storråda handled her admirers, Odendisa who was Hassmyra’s best housewife and how Skade got to choose her husband by the look of his feets. Learn about this, and much more, with a glass of mead in your hand during our Valentine’s Day tour  by archaeologist Eric Östergren.

We follow FHM’s recommendations regarding corona adaptation and the group will not be more than 8 people.

The price is SEK 400/person and that includes entrance, guided tour, a glass of mead or sparkling (and jelly hearts to honor the day).
The tour is about 45 minutes long and afterwards there is the opportunity to discover the museum and experience our Viking voyage Ragnfrid’s saga.
You also have the opportunity to shop in our nice museum shop with a 20% discount.

Our guided tour “Dating in the Viking Age” is only given on February 14th and can also be arranged as a gift certificate as the perfect Valentine’s Day gift.
