In connection with International Viking Day, The Viking Museum and Vrak – Museum of Wrecks invite you to two days of Viking-inspired experiences in Galärparken on Djurgården.
Experience strength competitions with Starke Viking, battle reenactments by Grimfrost, and live music on historical instruments performed by folk musician Per Runberg. In addition, The Viking Museum and Vrak present a program of themed tours, special exhibition viewings, and a lecture at Vrak with Faravid and Thomas from Svíar, “Awakening the Dead,” about the Salme find. Pre-booking for the lecture is available via Vrak’s website.
During the weekend, AV (After Viking) will be held at both museums (at The Viking Museum on Friday and at Vrak on Saturday), as well as mead tastings at Restaurant Eld. Please note that places for the mead tasting are limited and must be booked in advance. Send booking requests to eld@thevikingmuseum.com.
Outside the museums, there will be a lively atmosphere with Vikings to meet and outdoor seating areas open to visitors. Enjoy a self-guided mead tasting at Restaurant Eld or try the signature drink Mead Spritz. Wild boar and venison will be grilled over charcoal at Eld’s outdoor terrace and served in bread – Viking-style fast food.
Show your ticket from one museum and receive 30% off admission to the other. The offer is valid at both The Viking Museum and Vrak during Viking Weekend 2026.
Viking Weekend is organized by The Viking Museum in collaboration with Vrak – Museum of Wrecks, Starke Viking, and Grimfrost.
