Welcome to the newly opened Restaurant Eld at the Viking Museum. Our menu is inspired by Nordic cuisine and changes regularly, based on sustainability and seasonal ingredients. A fish dish, vegetarian options and our popular game meatballs are always on the menu, however. If you are in the mood for Swedish fika, there is a wide selection of organic pastries, buns and cookies – everything from a classic cinnamon bun to chocolate cakes. With our beautiful view over the Wasa harbor and Skeppsholmen, our beautiful facilities are perfect for parties – whether it’s a wedding, a birthday celebration or a kick-off.
The restaurant will of course help you tailor a menu after your needs and requests.
Mead Tastings
We offer mead tastings! Take a deep dive into the Viking’s favorite beverage mead, that you and your company will soon forget. If you have an interest in mead, beer or history this is the experience for you!
The mead tasting is held by one of the museum’s knowledgeable guides who will speak about the myths surrounding the Norse gods and their connection to mead, as well as what the beverage meant to Viking Age people. The tasting will consist of two types of mölska (a mixture between beer and mead) and six types of mead. A charcuterie board, completely made from Swedish produce, will also be served with the mead.
